Making Science Accessible

Agadem AB makes science, research and innovation accessible for dialogue and communication. Our work includes articles, conferences, exhibits, festival activities, science parliaments, and other formats where public, policy makers and researchers meet.

Agadem AB co-organized a presentation in Nordstan during the Science Festival, called "The Better Brain". Main message is that physical exercise is good for the brain, as the increased flow of blood contributes to the creation of new brain cells.

EC:s Green Paper

19 May: Submitted a written response on the European Commission's Green Paper on a "Common Strategic Framework for Future EU Research and Innovation Funding", focussing only on question 13 regarding public involvement and engagement. See pdf

Agadem AB is a member of European Science Events Association. Jan Riise was the president of the association 2008-2010.


Science Parliament in Lund

Agadem organises events for public participation and engagement. In April 2012 a series of debates will be arranged in Malmö, Sundsvall and Gothenburg as parts of the Science Festival's national outreach. The debates will focus on social entrepreneurship and education.

In spring, "Science Communication in the World", eds Bernard Schiele, Shi Shunke and Michel Claessens, will be published by Springer Verlag. One chapter, "From Public to Policy", is written by Jan Riise.

Eusea Annual Conference 2011

The International Science Festival Gothenburg and Agadem organized the 10th Anniversary Annual Conference of European Science Events Association, EUSCEA, in Gothenburg 13-14 May 2011. Conference website

Agadem AB co-organized a conference on Future Science Journalism in Gothenburg 10 May 2011. Invited speakers included John Burklow, communications director, NIH, USA; Alok Jha, science editor, the Guardian, UK; and Harald Eia, Norwegian comedian and host of tv show "Hjernevask" ("Brainwash").
